The method involves a short- distance radio receiver searching for short-distance radio signals, and confirmation of receipt signals are sent back to the transmitter. An identifier is set for the confirmation signals, and after a positive identification the receiver has a physical connection which is kept. An alarm, such as an acoustic signal, is provided if the physical connection between transmitter and receiver is interrupted. An independent claim is included for a telecommunication set-up.
