The vehicle (1) is fitted with a folding roof (5) inserted between a transversal bar (9.1) above the windscreen (9) and the upper edge of the car boot (10). A slightly curved, bar-shaped support element (3) can be positioned laterally along the front area of the closed roof (5) in order to reinforce the roof (5) and to prevent the occurrence of noises generated by the wind acting on the roof (5). When the roof (5) is folded to the back the support elements (3) can be slid into the front struts (2) and secured at any height as required.
