PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict an excessive output variation of a pulse modulator from being directly transferred to the output variation of a mixer due to internal reflections, etc. in a millimeter wave radar using a millimeter wave transmitter-receiver.
SOLUTION: The millimeter wave transmitter-receiver employs an NRD guide for its basic constitution comprising a millimeter wave signal oscillator 21, a pulse modulator 22, a circulator 23, a transmitting-receiving antenna 24, and a mixer 25. Ifδis the phase difference at a center frequency between a part of millimeter wave signals propagating to the mixer 25 via a second dielectric line and transmitting millimeter wave signals leaking and propagating from a third connection to the mixer 25 via a fourth dielectric line, the line length of at least one of a first, second and fourth dielectric lines is set to meetδ= (Nπ)/2±π/6 (where N is an integer exclusive of 0). This reduces the change of the mixer output to improve the millimeter wave transmission-reception performance.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
|
