PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device whose state confirmation and maintenance are improved in operability by making it possible to obtain the state of the display device through a mobile telephone set with an infrared communication function. SOLUTION: The display device is equipped with an infrared interface for infrared communication with the mobile telephone set with the infrared communication function, a means of taking a specified diagnosis with a specified diagnosis request command when receiving the command from the mobile telephone set with the infrared communication function, and a means of transmitting the diagnosis result with infrared light through the infrared interface.
