PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding member which is made lightweight and has less influence of welding on the holding member, and to provide a method for manufacturing the holding member. SOLUTION: A rear end chuck 74 is made lightweight and manufactured at a low cost compared with aluminum die casting by molding the chuck 74 from a resin. By making the rear end chuck 74 lightweight, deformation of the rear end chuck 74 in the direction against the energizing power on the chuck 74 can be decreased. Further, by providing the die to mold the rear end chuck 74 with a gate at either end in the longitudinal direction of the mold and by injecting the resin through the gates to mold the rear end chuck 74, the center part of the chuck 74 in the longitudinal direction is made mechanically weak. However, at least both ends of the chuck 74 are fixed to a rotary drum 54, which results in that, even when the center part is broken, the both ends of the rear end chuck 74 remain as separately fixed to the rotation drum 54. Therefore, the rear end chuck 74 and a printing plate 12 are prevented from detaching from the rotary drum 54 and the image exposure apparatus is hardly influenced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
