PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio relay robot and a radio communication method whereby a radio communication apparatus can make communication with another radio communication apparatus even when an obstacle stands in the way of a propagation path of a radio signal. SOLUTION: The radio relay robot 100 is provided with: a relaying apparatus 13 for receiving and transmitting a radio signal used by first and second radio communication apparatuses 200, 300; a signal detection section 15 for detecting the signal strength of the radio signal received by the relaying apparatus or a communication speed of the radio signal; a position detection section 17 for detecting a relay position at which the relaying apparatus can make communication with both the first and second radio communication apparatuses on the basis of the signal strength or the communication speed of the signal received from the first radio communication apparatus and the second radio communication apparatus; and a mobile mechanism 21 used for the movement of the relay position.
