PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve easiness-to-use, by releasing forced hot water filling stopping operation after completing hot water filling, by arranging a prescribed periodic allowance, after performing releasing operation. SOLUTION: This water heater has a water quantity measuring means 16 for integrating the total water feeding quantity, a flow regulating valve 19 for regulating the water feeding quantity, a forced hot water filling stopping means 40 for closing a water passage by the flow regulating valve 19 when the total water feed quantity becomes a prescribed water quantity, a forced hot water filling stopping releasing means 36 for releasing forced hot water filling stopping of the forced hot water filling stopping means 40, and a forced water quantity opening means 29 for opening the flow regulating valve 19 by releasing the forced hot water filling stopping after a prescribed time after releasing the forced hot water filling stopping by the forced hot water filling stopping releasing means 36.
