PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress transient stimulation occasionally developed by the application of a skin care preparation for external use containing a bleaching agent and an ultraviolet absorber. SOLUTION: This skin care preparation is compounded with (1) 4-n-butylresorcinol and/or its salt, (2) a compound expressed by formula (1) (R is H, a 1-4C alkyl, a (substituted)amino, a (substituted)aminocarbonyl, a 1-4C alkoxy or a 2-5C alkoxycarbonyl; and R' is H or a 1-10C alkyl) and/or its salt and (3) an antibacterial polyhydric alcohol.
