The invention relates to a method for operating an internal combustion engine (1) that is operated by means of a gaseous fuel and comprises at least one cylinder (8), a first fuel tank, a pipe (2) for delivering combustion air, in which a compressor (3) is disposed, an intake pipe unit (6), and a first fuel injection valve (4) located upstream of the compressor (3), gaseous fuel being introduced into the pipe (2) delivering combustion air with the aid of said first fuel injection valve (4). At least one second fuel injection valve (5) is additionally placed in the intake pipe unit (6). A preliminary gas-air mixture is formed by means of the first fuel injection valve (4) while an additional quantity of gaseous fuel is introduced with the aid of the second fuel injection valve (5). |
