The drawer (1) has a front wall acting as a handgrip (2). The semicircular curved portion (13) is situated behind the drawer with its longitudinal axis at 90 degrees to the direction of motion of the drawer. Its bottom portion is filled with straw (9) on which the cat excrement may be deposited. The pickup drum rotates in the housing on rollers. The rake teeth scrape up material from the semicircular curved portion and allow it to slide into the drawer past a movable flap. The drum housing has a door at one end and air holes in its side portion.
