Aqueous lacquer enamel (I) comprises resin A (having hydroxyl groups and partially neutralized hydrophilic acidic group) and highly etherified aminoplast B, where the aqueous solution or dispersion of the resin has pH below 6. An independent claim is also included for the preparation of (I).
