A seat device for a vehicle includes a seat body (6) having a base portion (6b) adapted to be mounted on the vehicle and a moving portion (6a) movable relative to the base portion and an actuator (7) configured to operate at a first operational speed and at a second operational speed faster than the first operational speed. The actuator (7) moves the moving portion (6a) relative to the base portion (6b). The seat device for the vehicle further includes a control device (8) for controlling the actuator (7) to operate at the second operational speed upon detection of approach of an obstacle (S) relative to the vehicle.
