The hearing aid has a switch for automatic switching between 2 alternate hearing assistance functions, provided with at least one magnetic field controlled ferrite component (12), exhibiting an impedance variation detected by a bridge circuit, for initiating switching between the alternate functions, e.g. a microphone mode and a telephone coil mode.
