Machine dishwashing formulations

The invention provides an aqueous machine dishwashing formulation comprising at least 10wt% water, a tripolyphosphate builder material and from 0.01 to 3.5wt% of an organic amine compound. <??>The formulations show a significant improvement in tripolyphosphate stability. This provides a beneficial reduction in filming, spotting or other unsightly deposits caused by tripolyphosphate breakdown products. Preferably the formulations are in the form of a gel and are packaged in a water-soluble sachet.
