<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital still camera capable of accurately and efficiently setting a focusing state. SOLUTION: When a shutter button is half-depressed in this digital still camera, a lens is driven by a phase difference AF system first, so that a focusing position is nearly aligned with an image pickup surface by driving the lens once (state S3). Furthermore, when the shutter button is fully depressed thereafter, the lens is driven by a contrast AF system so as to obtain a lens position where an evaluated value showing contrast is maximum, whereby the focusing state is accurately realized (state S4).</p> |
