A ventilator (1) for a cooling blower in a motor vehicle heat transfer unit comprises a fan in the air stream direction behind the heat transfer unit, especially in the rim of a ventilation hood. The ventilator comprises a hub (2) with surrounding fan blades (3) and the hub has air through holes (5) that are adjustable in area by movable closing elements (7).
