<p>A content based messaging audio and video conferencing system (100) provides a messaging infrastructure for multimedia and collaborative applications. The audio/video conferencing system (100) may be implemented using a publish/subscribe infrastructure, such as a content-based messaging (CBM) infrastructure and system (120). Conference participants (110) may exchange audio and/or video data streams (130, 135) using the CBM system (120). A list of contacts (422) displays the current status of users (420). For example, the status of a user may be offline, online, and in a conference.
