To provide a die cast apparatus for reducing pressure inside cavity to reduce time required in pressure reduction when ejecting and charging molten metal and reducing pressure of the cavity to a further lower pressure value, and a casting method using the die cast apparatus. In a die cast apparatus(1) for molding a casting article by exhausting gas in a cavity(C) formed by dies to reduce pressure in the cavity and ejecting and charging molten metal into the pressure reduced cavity, the die cast apparatus comprises a plural vacuum tanks(TA,TB) which are connected to a pressure reduced and closed space including the cavity, and of which the pressure is reduced in advance; and a plural opening-and-closing means and control means(30) for respectively opening and closing connection passages between the plural vacuum tanks and the closed space, wherein the control means additionally reduces pressure of the closed space by simultaneously closing connection passages, between some of the vacuum tanks and the closed space, and opening connection passages, between the other vacuum tanks and the closed space, after reducing pressure of the closed space using some of the plural vacuum tanks.
