Method for determining a 3D-velocity field in a volume, whereby illumination of the volume results in excitation of particles contained within the volume. According to the method, at least two cameras are used to record the volume at two separate times, the observation volume is subdivided into small volumes or voxels, each voxel is imaged by at least two cameras using an imaging equation, the intensity of all the voxels is reconstructed from the corresponding measured intensities of the corresponding image points and whereby a 3D cross-correlation of interrogation volumes at time intervals yields a displacement vector. |
