An inkjet printhead comprises a very thin silicon substrate 100 having first and second opposite surfaces 12, 14' and at least one narrow ink supply slot 30 extending through the thickness of the substrate to provide fluid communication between an ink supply and a plurality of ink ejection elements 22 formed on the first surface of the substrate. The second surface 14' of the substrate is bonded to a support member 16 which is much thicker than the substrate and has at least one respective ink supply slot 18 extending through the thickness thereof in register with but of much greater width than the ink supply slot 30 in the substrate. <IMAGE>
