The forces measured respectively by at least one of the two measurement sensors (3, 4) in three imbalance measurement runs, are related to each other in terms of their differences. The smallest forces are associated with the measurement run with the smallest measurement shaft (1). The forces measured in at least two further measurement runs are allocated to the respective associated calibration plane based on their differences. The greater force is allocated to the calibration plane lying more remotely from at least one sensor and the smaller force is allocated to the calibration lying nearer to the at least one sensor. An independent claim is included for the corresponding balancing machine.
