<p>An apparatus and method for cutting an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel are provided to reduce a period of time required for performing a scribing process and a braking process by simplifying a scribing apparatus and a braking apparatus and to minimize installation cost and space. An apparatus for cutting an LCD includes a scribing unit(210), a reversing unit(220), and a braking unit(230). The scribing unit forms the first cutting lines in the first direction and the second cutting lines in the second direction, which define LCD panels, on a mother substrate on which a plurality of LCD panels are formed. The reversing unit reverses the mother substrate. The braking unit includes a brake bar and a plurality of brake rollers. The brake bar strikes the reversed mother substrate to propagate a crack along the first cutting lines. The brake rollers apply a predetermined pressure to the reversed mother substrate to propagate the crack along the second cutting lines.</p> |
