A pole for a tent is provided to easily install and dismantle the tent by regulating freely the length of the pole due to a folding structure for moving an inner pole in an outer pole and to secure a favorable sliding motion. A horizontal pole(1) comprises inner and outer poles(10,20). The inner pole has recessed groove units and inner ball fixing tools(13,13',14,14',15,15'). The outer pole has projection units and outer ball fixing tools(23,24,25,26). Balls(30,31,32,33) are inserted in a space(27) formed between the inner and outer ball fixing tools. The pole of the tent is moved foldably by the balls. Circular protrusions(41,42) connected with a spring are arranged on an upper end of the inner pole. Gap keeping grooves(43,44,45) are disposed at regular intervals on a predetermined surface of the outer pole.
