METHOD OF RECOVERING RGB DATA AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE SAME

A method for recovering RGB data and an apparatus for performing the same are provided to reduce a size of a memory and maintain the definition of image quality by comparing a value of a dither table with an MSB(Most Significant Bit) value of the RGB data and recover bits. A data input unit(200) receives the first RGB data having N bits, judges bit information of the received RGB data, and generates RGB data information. A comparing unit(240) compares a value of a dither table with an MSB value of the first RGB data according to RGB data information, and provides a comparison value. A data recovering unit(260) compensates the first RGB data according to the comparison value and judged RGB data information, recovers the number of bits as the M bits, and generates the second RGB data having the recovered number of bits.
