A fuel gauge of a fuel tank is provided to measure exactly the amount of fuel by measuring the fuel height of measuring tubes by photodiodes and a photo transistor and comparing the fuel amount of the measuring tubes with an ECU(Electronic Control Unit) and to display the amount of fuel to an indicator of a driver's seat. A fuel gauge of a fuel tank(30) is composed of measuring tubes(40,50) installed at both sides of a tank body(31) to apply pressure same as the inside of the tank body by connecting upper and lower sides of the tank body; a photodiode(60) formed at one side of the measuring tubes to emit light in applying an electric current; a photo transistor(62) disposed at the other side of the measuring tubes and turned on or off by receiving the light applied from the photodiode; an ECU(64) for calculating the fuel amount of the tank body by receiving on/off signals of the photo transistors installed at both sides of the tank body; and an indicator(68) for informing a driver of the amount of fuel calculated by the ECU.
