A method for dispersing carbon nanotubes (I) in an organic solvent (or solvent mixture) (II) involves treating the (I)/(II) mixture with a dispersion stabilizing combination of (a) surfactant(s) capable of being adsorbed on the surface of (I) and (b) polymer(s) having affinity for both (II) and (a). An independent claim is included for dispersions (A) of (I) in (II), obtained by the above process and having a (I) content of up to 3 wt. %.
