PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold a lock release state while single-sided pallets are transported when a pallet lock device is automated even if double-sided pallets and the single-sided pallets are mixed with each other. SOLUTION: This pallet locking device comprises a lock lever 14 pressing and locking the pallet 40, a drive machine 18 driving the lock lever 14 in a locking direction or an unlocking direction, a lock detection means 31 detecting the presence or absence of the pressing of the lock lever 14 against the pallet 40 by the elastically deformed amount of an elastic means 26 interposed between the drive machine 18 and the lock lever 14 in driving in the locking direction, and a control means 50 which, when a drive limit detection means 34 detects the limit of the driving when the pallet detection means 32 detects the pallet 40 on a fork, making the drive machine 18 perform an operation for holding at a release position after the lock lever 14 is returned to the release position by driving in the releasing direction.
