PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out position control of a mobile body such as a carriage by obtaining information of a higher resolution with the use of a low-resolution signal of an encoder. SOLUTION: There are set a counting means for counting a position when receiving position information from an encoder means, a sensor fitted at the carriage for detecting a reflecting plate set at a region where the carriage scans, an interrupting means for making the carriage scan at a predetermined velocity and making an interruption process carried out by a period corresponding to the velocity, and a counting means for counting the interruption process. At the interruption process, position information of the reflecting plate is acquired with the use of a count value of the interruption at the time when a state of the sensor changes in one period of the encoder signal, and an execution number of times of the interruption process of the period.
