The present invention relates to caspase derived caspase recruitment domains (CARDs). More specifically, the invention relates to CARDs derived from procaspase-1 and procaspase-2, and their use to induce nuclear factor of the Kappa-enhancer in B-cells (NF-KappaB) activation and/or p38 MAP kinase activation.
