<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the system for controlling a sleep mode in a wideband wireless access communication system and to provide its method. <P>SOLUTION: In the wideband wireless access communication system, the subscriber terminals operating in a sleep mode are managed by grouping them, so an efficiency for controlling the sleep mode of the wideband wireless access communication system may increase. Each point of time for transmitting a paging message of each group is differentiated each other within a unit time interval for controlling the sleep mode, such that subscriber terminals can be managed according to groups. The base station can previously find subscriber terminals awaking at each point of time for transmitting the paging message of each group among subscriber terminals that are in the sleep mode based on a sleep interval scheduling information of each subscriber terminal, so an unnecessary transmission of the paging message is reduced and an efficiency of the wideband wireless access communication system may increase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
