SELF-EXPANDING STENT AND STENT DELIVERY SYSTEM EQUIPPED WITH DISTAL SIDE PROTECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-expanding stent which is equipped with a capturing basket to filter a chip of an embolus and a stent delivery system.

SOLUTION: The self-expanding stent and the stent delivery system are for treating an affected blood vessel such as a partially occluded blood vessel or the like in the brain. The self-expanding stent is attached to a thin and long core including a proximal end cylindrical member, a middle cylindrical member and a distal end cylindrical member which are disposed around a core wire. The stent including an anchoring member is attached to the middle cylindrical member so that the anchoring member is interlocked in a gap between the cylindrical members. A balloon is disposed in a delivery lumen of a balloon catheter to press and bind the stent to the middle cylindrical member so that the stent is interlocked to the core wire. And the thin and long core wire has the capturing basket to capture the chip of the embolus.
