PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To periodically and efficiently remove bubbles accumulated in a bubble accumulation chamber mounted on a carriage together with a recording head. SOLUTION: The inkjet printer is structured so as to supply ink from an ink tank storing the ink to a buffer tank 36 provided on the upper side of a recording head 34 mounted on the carriage 17 through a tube. One end of suction routes 47a to 47d formed on the top face side of the ceiling wall 45 of the buffer tank 36 communicates with a cylindrical suction opening 46 projected downward on the ceiling wall 45, the other end of the suction route 47a to 47d is connected to an opening and closing valve means 41 provided on one side of the buffer tank 36, the valve body 55 in the opening and closing valve means 41 is opened by a valve operating means (release rod 62) provided in the waiting position of the carriage 17 to exhaust air (bubbles) accumulated in the bubble accumulation chamber 40 below the ceiling wall 45.
