<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible thermal recording medium with good high-speed erasability and excellent durability against repetition. <P>SOLUTION: In this reversible thermal recording medium, a reversible thermal recording layer, wherein the state of relatively developing a color by a difference in heating temperature and/or cooling speed after heating can be formed by using an electron-donating coloring compound and an electron-accepting compound, is provided on a substrate.
