METHOD FOR INHIBITING PRION PROTEIN AND USE OF THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inhibiting abnormal-type prion protein applicable to preventing and treating prion disease for which no effective therapy has been established yet at present, and to provide a method for using the method.

SOLUTION: The method for inhibiting the accumulation of the abnormal-type prion protein comprises inhibiting the expression of a normal-type prion protein using siRNA in prion-infected cells. This method is applicable to preventing and treating prion disease.
