<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an erase roller for a reversible thermal recording medium printing device which can erase uniformly and in a short wait time, data printed to a rewrite card that uses a reversible thermal recording medium or to a rewrite paper larger in the size than the rewrite card, and to provide a printing device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The erase roller is equipped with a conductive shaft 20, a cylindrical rotary roller 30 penetrated by the shaft 20, and conductive first and second fitting members. A first and a second heater wires 50 and 51 electrically insulated from each other via a constant interval are wound at both end sides of the conductive shaft 20, respectively. The conductive first and second fitting members are set at both ends of the shaft 20, respectively to fit the shaft 20 to the rotary roller 30 via a constant gap so that the rotary roller 30 can rotate. One ends of the first and second heater wires 50 and 51 are electrically connected to a power supply, and the other ends of the first and second heater wires 50 and 51 are electrically connected to the shaft 20 at a center part of the shaft 20.
