<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device capable of preventing useless supply of fuel to exhaust, and restricting deterioration of fuel consumption. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device 11 is provided with a first and a second catalyst converters 32 and 33 provided in an exhaust passage 14 in a diesel engine 10, in which exhaust cleaning catalysts are carried, and an electronic control device 41 to set the catalyst temperature of the exhaust cleaning catalyst in both catalyst converters 32 and 33 to such a degree that sulfur oxide can be discharged by supplying fuel to the exhaust through the exhaust passage 14, and to reduce sulfur oxide occluded in the exhaust cleaning catalyst to be discharged. The electronic control device 41 determines if the discharge of the sulfur oxide is delayed or not based on change in occlusion quantity (S-poisoning quantity) of sulfur oxide in the exhaust cleaning catalyst.
