PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove nitrogen efficiently at a low cost and reduce waste by using waste milk as a hydrogen donor and an organic carbon source, in denitrification when organic waste water, such as separated water from methane fermentation, is biologically denitrified.
SOLUTION: In a biological denitrification process 9 of the organic waste water, the waste milk 16, a waste material containing lipid derived from milk, which has a high BOD/N ratio and is excellent as the hydrogen donor (organic carbon source), is added, which enables effective utilization of the waste material derived from the milk, such as the waste milk, treated conventionally as a waste material, and enables a highly efficient removal of nitrogen at a low cost in comparison with a case where methanol or the like is used.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
|
