PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing material suitably applicable to an automobile fuel system, etc., using dimethyl ether as a fuel. SOLUTION: The dimethyl ether-resistant sealing material is a vulcanized molded article of (1) a straight-chain fluorine-containing elastomer having a perfluoro polyether skeleton and hydrolyzable silyl groups at both the molecular ends or (2) a tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoro (lower alkyl vinyl ether) copolymer. The sealing material has excellent resistance to both dimethyl ether and a lubricating oil, and has excellent low-temperature characteristics, suitably being applied to a sealing material for use in an automobile fuel system using dimethyl ether.
