PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a second data communication apparatus by dispensing with an operation corresponding to a first or a second communication mode and eliminating the necessity to arrange a means for the operation, and to reduce a cost. SOLUTION: A data transmission system includes: a data communication apparatus 1 for transmitting prescribed data of a memory to a data communication apparatus 2 via a communication means, then receiving the prescribed data from the apparatus 2 and updating the prescribed data of the memory; a data communication apparatus 3 for reporting a transmission instruction to the apparatus 2 in a first communication mode via the communication means, receiving the prescribed data, and transmitting the prescribed data and the report of the second communication mode to the apparatus 2 in the second communication mode; and the data communication apparatus 2 for receiving the prescribed data via the communication means and storing them in the memory, receiving the report of the transmission instruction and transmitting the prescribed data of the memory, receiving the prescribed data and the report of the second communication mode, storing the prescribed data in the memory, then receiving the prescribed data and transmitting the prescribed data of the memory.
