PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image photographing system which can photograph a subject image which can be synthesized with a background by maintaining a natural color tone and a shading relation. SOLUTION: The image photographing system includes a stage 1 of a predetermined shape with all partition walls transparent, at least one illuminator 2 which illuminates the partition walls 10 of the stage 1 with visible light from the outside of the stage 1, a photographing unit 3 which photographs the interior of the stage illuminated by the illuminator 2, and a transparent retroreflective material covering the inside of the partition wall 10. The photographing unit 3 has a visible light video photographing part 31 which photographs the visible light video in the stage, an infrared irradiator 35 which irradiates a photographing field with infrared light, and an infrared light image photographer 34 which photographs an infrared video on the optical axis of the visible light video photographing part 31.
