APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MEASURING CREEPING OF RAIL AND REFERENCE TARGET INSTALLATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and automatically measure the creeping of rails even when forward and backward deviations of right and left reference piles and rotational deviations of a measuring rolling stock car to the center line of a track gauge. SOLUTION: Reference pile targets 10A and 10B are installed to the reference piles 9A and 9B, installed on both sides of right and left rails 8A and 8B. A measuring optical device 2 for the reference piles and a measuring optical device 20 for measuring the distances to the reference piles for irradiating light to them at different angles from two directions and receiving its reflected light are prepared. A measuring optical device 3 for reference points for irradiating light to reference point targets 17A and 17B, installed to side surfaces of the right and left rails and provided with reflecting surfaces, and receiving its reflected light is prepared. An encoder 4 for measuring the traveling location of the measuring rolling stock car 1 is prepared. Based on the output signals from the devices 2-4 and 20, each creeping of the right and left rails 8A and 8B is computed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
