In a structural body constituted of a film member and a film support member that supports the entire part of or part of the periphery of the film member, a method disclosed prevents the function and appearance of the film support member and film member from being damaged when applying tensile force to the film member by heat treatment. An elastic element with a thermal shrinkage property is used as the film member (2). The film member (2) is fixed to the film support member (3) without tensile force or with a tensile force smaller than a tensile force required as a structural body, and then the film member (2) is heated and thermally shrunken with the temperature of the film support member (3) being maintained at a temperature lower than the melting temperature of the film support member (3). Thus a tensile force causing the film member (2) to exhibit elasticity that is required as the structural body is applied to the film member (2).
