COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND METHOD HAVING A COMMON PLATFORM

A communication device equipped with multiple processors and applications operated under control of a common platform, and a method thereof are provided to minimize a physical size and power consumption. A modem(350) is equipped with a DSP(Digital Signal Processor)(395) for performing wireless communications. An AP(Application Processor)(310) is equipped with a CPU(311) and a bus master controller(380) for controlling multiple peripherals including an interface communicating with a modem through a common bus(305). An MP-SDRAM(375) shared by the modem and the AP is controlled through the interface. The peripherals include at least one of a camera module(330), a DDI(Display Driver IC)/LCD(320), and an MP-NAND flash(340).
