<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely reproduce data, even when a discrepancy between the center wavelength of a recording laser beam and the central wavelength of a reproducing laser beam arises. <P>SOLUTION: A holographic memory reproducing apparatus 100 is provided with a laser light source 101a for generating the reproducing laser beam. A semiconductor pulsation laser having a wide wavelength distribution is used, as the laser light source 101a. A holographic memory 120 is irradiated with the beam from the laser light source 101a, via an ND filter 102a, a beam expander 103a, a mirror 104a, a mirror 108, and a Fourier transforming lens 109. A reference beam, which is spatially modulated and diffracted by an interference pattern formed on the holographic memory, is received by a photodetector 130.
