<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information apparatus which has a communication module inside and allows only the module to be enabled by an external apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 12 executes various processes executable in an information apparatus 100. A communication module 16 executes communication processes based on the EV-DO system or the cdma 2000 1x system. A data terminal 10 is a connector for communicating data with a not-shown external apparatus. A switching unit 14 switches over the data terminal 10 and the CPU 12 or the data terminal 10 and the communication module 16. A switch 18 has an operating function for a user to switch over objects to be connected by the switching unit 14. A display 22 mainly shows the process result of the CPU 12.
