CATION EXCHANGE MEMBRANE, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND MEMBRANE-ELECTRODE JUNCTION FOR SOLID POLYMER FUEL CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cation exchange membrane which has high strength in spite of its thin thickness, superior in dimensional stability when containing water, and a membrane electrode assembly for solid polymer fuel cell having high output and excellent durability by dint of the usage of the cation exchange membrane.

SOLUTION: The cation exchange membrane is composed of perfluorocarbon polymer having sulfonic group which is reinforced by fluorine-contained polymer cloth of which the denier number of warp and weft is respectively independently 0.01-1.2, and the thickness of the crossing point of the warp and weft is 1-20 μm. The membrane electrode assembly for solid polymer fuel cell has this cation exchange membrane as an electrolyte membrane.
