PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which hinders deterioration of image quality. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forms an electrostatic latent image by emitting light beams to the surface of a rotating image carrier, forms a toner image by developing the electrostatic latent image with toner, and finally transfers and fixes the toner image to a recording medium, thereby forming an image formed from the fixed toner image onto the recording medium. The image forming apparatus includes: an exposure unit having a plurality of light sources which are arranged near the image carrier and emit the light beams to the image carrier, and a condensing optical system which condenses the light beams, emitted from the light sources, onto the image carrier; and a development unit which develops the electrostatic latnet image, formed on the image carrier, with toner.
