METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CALCULATION OF REFRIGERANT CHARGE, AND REFRIGERANT CHARGER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate a refrigerant charge with which refrigerant piping is to be charged. SOLUTION: A gas-charged container 4 is connected to refrigerant piping 3 connecting an outdoor unit 1 and indoor units 2. The pressure and temperature of gas in the gas-charged container 4 before gas charging and the pressure and temperature of gas in the gas-charged container 4 in an equilibrium state after gas charging are measured. From a computation formula based on Boyle-Charles's law, the total volume of the gas-charged container 4 and refrigerant piping 3 in an equilibrium state after gas charging is computed. The container volume of the gas-charged container is subtracted from the total volume to produce the volume of the refrigerant piping. A refrigerant volume corresponding to the volume of the refrigerant piping 3 is a charge. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
