PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photo cation-curing resin composition that has excellent low-temperature polymerization conversion and yet provides a cured material having excellent bond strength, moisture permeability resistance and excellent productivity, a sealing material suitable for a liquid crystal display and an electroluminescent display, and a liquid crystal display and an electroluminescent display obtained by using the sealing material, a method for sealing a liquid crystal display and an electroluminescent display, using the sealing material and a method for producing a liquid crystal display and an electroluminescent display using the sealing material. SOLUTION: The photo cation-curing resin composition comprises a cationically polymerizable compound, a photo acid generator and at least one kind of a bifunctional oxetane compound selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by general formula (I), (II), (III), (IV) and (V).
