PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the detail of a sound signal from being lost even after noise is removed. SOLUTION: Sound waveforms cut, frame by frame, by multiplying a window function by a multiplier 10 are processed by an FFT 11 into a sound signal in a frequency range and a peak detection part 12 detects a peak. A peak tracking part 13 tracks a spectrum forming a locus in the frame of the detected peak. Spectrum relating to a hum noise frequency in the spectrum forming the locus is put together by a sine wave composition part 14. The composited noise waveform is subtracted by an adder 16 from the original waveform to remove the hum noise from the original waveform. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
